I am looking at studying fashion design, but not sure which school I should go in London. I have heard of Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and Istituto Marangoni. I just want to know which school will give me the best employment prospect, so I need the school that I go to, to not only give me a good education and training but also the good industry contacts and networking opportunity so that I have a better chance of getting a job at a big fashion house after I graduate. Thank you.

The Bulgarian State Radio and Television Female Vocal Choir is an internationally renowned World Music ensemble that blends traditional six-part a capella repertoire with modern arrangements. It is most recognized under the recording name Le Mystre des Voix Bulgares. First created in Bulgaria in 1952 by Philip Koutev, “the father of Bulgarian concert folk music,” the choir is now under the direction of Dora Hristova. Koutev also created and conducted the Ensemble of the Bulgarian Republic in 1951.

Singers are chosen from country villages for the beauty and openness of their voices, and they undergo extensive training in the unique centuries’ old singing style. Influenced by Bulgaria’s Thracian, Ottoman and Byzantine history, their music is striking in its use of diaphonic singing and distinctive timbre, as well as its modal scales and dissonant harmonies (abundant second, seventh, and ninth intervals).

Though the choir became widely known when the trend-setting English alternative record label 4AD released a pair of anthology albums in 1986 and 1988 with the now famous title Le Mystre des Voix Bulgares, their recordings date as far back as 1957. The first pressing of the Voix Bulgares album was the result of fifteen years of work by Swiss ethnomusicologist and producer Marcel Cellier and was originally released in 1975 on his small Discs Cellier label. Ivo Watts-Russell (founder of 4AD) was introduced to the choir from a third or fourth generation audio cassette lent to him by Peter Murphy, singer from the band Bauhaus. He became thoroughly entranced by the music, and tracked down and licensed the recordings from Cellier. The group has since performed extensively around the world to wide acclaim and were honored with a Grammy Award in 1989 for their second album.

Three prominent soloists of the group have also performed together as the Trio Bulgarka, notably on the Kate Bush albums The Sensual World and The Red Shoes.

In 1992, the choir divided into two: one for radio, one for television. Bulgarian television signed a contract with the one half, which is the Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir; the other half organised itself as a collective, and now performs as The Bulgarian Voices ANGELITE.

Featured on CNN: In New York City’s East Village, a young hip fashion designer, Kate Goldwater, is using Obama’s face as the new fad of this clothing season. She’s turned her store into Obama’s fashion headquarters, selling Obama dresses and shirts, giving away pins and stickers. She also has thrown 3 Obama fashion shows all in the name of rocking the vote and raising awareness for the democratic presidential nominee.

35 girls arrive at “Top Model Prep” where they meet Mr. and Ms. Jay. They shoot a class photo before commencing runway lessons with Ms. Jay, where Lauren is seen as the weakest walker. Next, the girls attend a bonfire where the “Homecoming Queen” is going to be announced. The cheerleaders by the stage are revealed to be contestants from past cycles. Mr. Jay then announces that the finalists will be taken to New York City. Finally, the girls meet Tyra, and casting interviews commence.

In between interviews, a fight breaks out between Shaya and Fatima, but they later make up when the latter reveals that she is a survivor of genital mutilation. Memorable auditions include Stacy Ann’s lap dance, Fatima telling the judges about her circumcision, and Claire’s confession about drinking her own breast milk so her baby can breast feed when she returns home.

After the interviews, the girls are pared down to the final 20, where they participate in a senior class photo shoot and have to do their own hair and make up.

Later in the day, Tyra reveals the final 13. When she calls “Aimee/Amy”, both advance, and Amy offers to change her name to “Amis”, a childhood nickname, to avoid confusion. When the thirteenth girl is chosen, Tyra mentioned that so many girls had potential, and chooses Dominique as the fourteenth and last finalist.

For a long time now I've wanted to be a fashion designer, or stylist. I already read fashion magazines, but they don't provide much in the way of history, etc. Which books would you suggest to a teenager who wanted to understand the history and ways of fashion and fashion design?
